Legal Wedding: Orthodox weddings are legal ceremonies that require the preparation of legal documents. While we provide procedures and instructions, most of the work must be done by you, back home. These procedures take time, so we need to start quite early before the wedding day.
Location Requirements: Orthodox ceremonies can only take place at Orthodox churches or chapels. Churches are free to use, with four available in Mykonos: three in Mykonos Town and one in Anomera. Chapels are privately owned requiring a fee. Permissions are also required to use these chapels.
Ceremony Essentials: Essentials for the ceremony, such as Stefana (crowns), Lambades (candles), and rice, are included.
Restrictions: There are restrictions for Orthodox weddings. Both individuals in the couple must be Christians, with at least one being Orthodox. In some cases, the non-Orthodox spouse may need to be baptized to have an Orthodox ceremony.
